About the Counselor
My name is Tamara Scott. I am a wife and a mother. I was born in St. Louis, MO, and raised in a single-parent home in Chicago, IL. Our home was made up of me, my mother, my sister, and my brother. I cannot leave out God. My mother kept God at the forefront of her life and made sure He was known in our home. She taught my siblings and me about Him from an early age, and even though her life took different paths, her faith remained steady. Her devotion laid the foundation for our own walk with God. My father was not present in my life, although my brother and sister’s fathers were around. At the age of 14, my relationship with God began. I was saved, baptized by water, and filled with the Holy Spirit.
My Calling
The call to Christian counseling became clear to me long before I ever had a title. For as long as I can remember, people have been drawn to me — strangers in stores, coworkers on the job, individuals who simply needed a safe place to release what they were carrying. God consistently gave me the words to say, and those words brought comfort, clarity, and relief. I didn’t realize then that it was my calling.
Call Confirmed
In 2021, I attended a vision board party. I was excited — I love crafting — yet I found myself helping everyone else complete their boards, guiding them through their strengths, weaknesses, and dreams. At the end of the event, I had only one thing on my board: books. I didn’t yet understand what God was revealing. That night, I prayed, “Lord, what are You calling me to?”
The very next day, God answered.
I ministered to my nail technician as she walked through a painful divorce. One of the customers sitting nearby listened to our conversation. When I stood up, she approached me and asked for my business card. I had no idea what she was referring to. She asked, “Aren't you a Counselor?” I told her I wasn’t a counselor, she looked at me and said, “Well, you missed your calling.”
As I made my way to the pedicure chair, in awe at how quickly God answered me, my pastor friend called unexpectedly and said, “I just wanted you to know our college is starting back up — but we’re only offering Christian Counseling.”
Calling confirmed!! God made it unmistakably clear.
My Purpose
I am a Christian counselor called to expose and break the power of illegitimacy — the identity‑wounding force that forms through life’s painful experiences, including parenting challenges, divorce or marriage strain, loss, sexual abuse or assault, molestation, domestic violence, abandonment or rejection, adultery, and emotional, mental, or spiritual (church hurt) trauma. My purpose is to create a safe, Spirit‑led space where individuals can reflect, heal, and rise into the identity God originally designed for them. (Genesis 1:26-27)
As the founder of Rhythm of Reflection Christian Counseling, LLC, I combine advanced Christian counseling training with Holy Spirit–guided insight. My approach is gentle yet deeply transformative — rooted in Scripture, prayer, and the belief that every person carries a divine identity waiting to be reclaimed.
My counseling journey is not just a professional endeavor; it is a calling. God has entrusted me with the assignment of helping others confront the lies, wounds, and generational patterns that have tried to silence their worth. I walk alongside each person, led by Holy Spirit with compassion, discernment, and a commitment to seeing them whole.
I also serve in ministry leadership alongside my husband, partnering together to bring healing, clarity, and encouragement to those we serve. My academic preparation includes completing my Master’s degree in Christian Counseling, and I am continuing forward in pursuit of my PhD — all to strengthen the work God has placed in my hands.
